Steam Deck Most Played October: Slay the Spire 2 stays on top as Cyberpunk 2077 surges

By Gaming On Steam ·

This month’s Steam Deck Most Played news is a good mix of the usual favourites and a couple of big newcomers. Steam’s Steam Deck Most Played chart for 3 October to 1 November 2026 still has Slay the Spire 2 at number one, but Cyberpunk 2077 has jumped 11 places to #3, and the cosy crafting game Dressmaker has rocketed up 38 places to #17.

I’ve gone through all 20 games on the chart, with each one’s UK price, Valve’s Steam Deck rating and how busy it is on Steam right now. Seventeen of the 20 are Steam Deck Verified, and the other three are Playable, so there’s nothing on this list that won’t run on the handheld.

I’ve also counted down the whole Steam Deck top sellers chart in a video, from #20 to #1, with Steam Deck gameplay of the top five. If you’d rather watch than read, here it is.

Steam Deck Most Played : the biggest movers

Dressmaker is the standout climber, up 38 places to #17 about six weeks after it launched on 21 September. Cyberpunk 2077 is up 11 to #3, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is up 8 to #9.

There are two new entries. FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, which came out on 22 October, goes straight in at #7, and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, released on 14 October, is new at #10. Castlevania is the only new entry that isn’t Verified on Steam Deck, as Valve rates it Playable.

Going the other way, No Man’s Sky fell 10 places to #19, even with a 60% discount bringing it down to £19.99. Fields of Mistria dropped 9 places to #14, Palworld fell 8 to #16, and ELDEN RING slipped 6 to #18.

#1 Slay the Spire 2 (no change)

Mega Crit’s roguelike deckbuilder holds on to the top spot again. It’s still in Early Access, but it’s Steam Deck Verified, and a turn-based card game like this is about as good a fit for the handheld as you’ll find. It’s £19.99 on Steam, sits at Very Positive in user reviews, and had 45,464 people playing at the time of the chart, with a 7-day peak of 92,183.

#2 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered (up 1)

CD PROJEKT RED’s open-world RPG, now listed on Steam as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, climbs one place to #2. It’s Deck Verified and Overwhelmingly Positive in user reviews. It’s £39.99 on Steam, with 26,293 current players and a 7-day peak of 79,784.

#3 Cyberpunk 2077 (up 11)

Cyberpunk 2077 screenshot of two characters riding in a car at night

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the big stories this month, up 11 places to #3. It’s also by far the busiest game on the chart, with 116,200 players at the time of the chart and a 7-day peak of 185,333. It’s Deck Verified, and when I tested version 2.5 on Steam Deck, DLSS with HelixSR and MAKO frame generation got it to 60fps in most of Night City, although Dogtown still dips. It’s £49.99 on Steam and Very Positive in user reviews.

#4 Stardew Valley (down 2)

Stardew Valley screenshot of a farmhouse with crop fields and a barn

Stardew Valley drops two places but stays in the top five, which says a lot about a farming game that came out in 2016. It’s Deck Verified, Overwhelmingly Positive in user reviews, and still one of the best-value games on the chart at £10.99 on Steam. It had 34,926 players at the time of the chart and a 7-day peak of 88,398.

#5 The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (down 1)

Square Enix’s new pixel-art FINAL FANTASY is the highest new entry, straight in at #7 after launching on 22 October. It’s Deck Verified, and I had a great time with the FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE demo on my Steam Deck back in September, so it’s good to see it landing this well. It’s £39.99 on Steam, with 23,515 players at the time of the chart and a 7-day peak of 41,769. Early players are loving it, too: it’s Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam, with 96% of 2,437 English-language reviews positive.

#8 Balatro (up 3)

The poker roguelike climbs three places to #8, helped by a 20% discount that brings it down to £10.23 on Steam (from £12.79). Balatro is one of only three games here that’s Verified on Steam Deck, Steam Machine and Steam Frame, and it’s Overwhelmingly Positive in user reviews. It had 7,332 current players and a 7-day peak of 8,831.

#9 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (up 8)

It follows Rose Belmont, 23 years after Castlevania: Dracula’s Curse. Valve rates it Playable on Steam Deck, but interestingly it’s Verified on both Steam Machine and Steam Frame. It’s £24.98 on Steam, with 4,718 current players and a 7-day peak of 10,508. It’s Very Positive on Steam, with 86% of 4,778 English-language reviews positive.

#11 Valheim (down 5)

Rockstar’s western climbs three places to #13. It’s rated Playable on Steam Deck and Steam Machine rather than Verified, and it’s the most expensive game here at £59.99 on Steam. It’s Very Positive in user reviews, with 22,132 players at the time of the chart and a 7-day peak of 48,735.

#14 Fields of Mistria (down 9)

Dressmaker is the biggest climber on the whole chart, up 38 places to #17. It’s a cosy crafting game from Cozy Lives where you choose fabric, cut out pattern pieces and sew them together, inspired by real dressmaking. It launched on 21 September, it’s Overwhelmingly Positive in user reviews, and it had 15,833 players at the time of the chart, with a 7-day peak of 28,156. Valve rates it Playable on Steam Deck and Steam Machine. It’s £13.60 on Steam.

#19 No Man’s Sky (down 10)

Hello Games’ space exploration game is Steam Deck Verified, and it had 14,633 players at the time of the chart, with a 7-day peak of 17,915. It’s Very Positive on Steam, with 82% of 187,428 English-language reviews positive.

#20 Graveyard Keeper 2 (down 2)

Graveyard Keeper 2 screenshot of a village with fields and trees

Lazy Bear’s medieval cemetery sim slips two places to #20. It’s one of the rare games that’s Verified on Steam Deck, Steam Machine and Steam Frame, which I also pointed out when it came to GeForce NOW on Steam Deck. It’s currently 10% off at £20.24 on Steam (from £22.49), with 3,634 current players and a 7-day peak of 8,448. It’s Mostly Positive on Steam, with 77% of 4,271 English-language reviews positive.

What about Steam Machine and Steam Frame?

On the Steam Machine, 18 of the 20 games are Verified, and the other two, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Dressmaker, are Playable. The Steam Frame is a very different picture. Only Balatro, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Brotato and Graveyard Keeper 2 are Verified there, Cyberpunk 2077 and Vampire Survivors are Playable, and six are rated Unsupported: The Witcher 3, The Binding of Isaac, Baldur’s Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Palworld and Dressmaker. The other eight haven’t been rated for the Frame yet.

The chart at a glance

Here’s the original chart, with the UK prices, rank changes and Valve’s Deck badges as they were shown for the 3 October to 1 November period.

My take on this month’s chart

The top of the chart is very settled this time, with Slay the Spire 2, The Witcher 3, Stardew Valley and The Binding of Isaac all moving by two places or fewer and staying in the top five. The interesting part is lower down. Two brand-new releases made the top 10 within weeks of launch, and a small crafting game like Dressmaker can climb 38 places, while a 60% discount wasn’t enough to stop No Man’s Sky falling.

It’s also a good sign for the handheld that every one of the 20 is at least Playable. If you’re looking for something new to play on your Steam Deck, FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE and Dressmaker are the two I’d look at first, and Cyberpunk 2077 is well worth it if you’re happy to do a bit of tweaking. Let me know what you’ve been playing on yours.
